What platforms does Script-Q V.6 run on?

Mac 13 (Ventura), 14 (Sonoma), 15 (Sequoia), 26 (Tahoe). Windows 10, 11

Does the latest OS work on my Mac or Windows computer. Will your software work with it?

Will Script-Q software work with my existing teleprompter hardware?

Yes. Script-Q works with most standard prompting equipment.

I’ve switched from using a Windows computer to a Mac (or a Mac to a Windows computer). Will my serial number work?

Can you upgrade from Script-Q version 5 to version 6?

Yes, you can upgrade from version 5 of Script-Q or ProPrompter to version 6 of Script-Q. Owners of previous versions should contact support@script-q.com or call 413-637-0099 for upgrades.

Why is there a blank space at the right and/or bottom of the operator screen when I use dual screen mode?

We do this intentionally. A lot of competitive products make you switch screen resolutions on your operator screen (usually a laptop) to match the screen resolution displayed on the prompter screen. Software shouldn’t be complicated. We utilize a comparable space on the operator screen. For Demo Videos on YouTube – Windows and Mac.

Can I install my software on more than one machine?

Yes. We understand that it is vital for professionals to always have a backup plan for when things go wrong. We allow our software to be installed on as many machines as you want, provided you only run the software on one computer at a time. This lets you have a backup machine ready to be used in case of an emergency.

What kinds of controllers can I use to control my script speed?

You can use any controller set to mimic either mouse clicks or keyboard strokes. We recommend and sell a few that we know to work well here.

I bought the Advanced (or Professional) version but the script is backward on the operator screen. What’s wrong?

Turn on the extended desktop feature (Windows) or turn off mirrored desktop (Mac) to enable this. Step by step instructions can be found under the Help Menu>Script-Q Help. Choose “Using Dual Screen Mode”. For Demo Videos on YouTube – Windows and Mac.

What should I be using for a computer to get the best performance?

Prompting a script is a fairly video intensive operation, especially if you are using dual screen mode. We have found that the computers that perform best have a dedicated video card in them.

I used ProPrompter for years and was redirected to this site. Why am I here?

ProPrompter Software (v.2–5) were functionally identical to the same versions of Script-Q. In order to economize the computer programming updates, we have decided to no longer offer ProPrompter branded software. Script-Q will continue to offer upgrade pricing and support to ProPrompter customers through the Script-Q website. We hope you enjoy many new features we’ve added in this new version.
